What water does for a reactive skin
Why we start every redness plan with the barrier, not the light.

A reactive skin is usually a thirsty skin. When the outer layer loses water faster than it can hold it, nerves sit closer to the surface and almost anything stings: wind, a new cleanser, a hot shower.
Why we start with the barrier
Light therapy calms redness, but it works best on skin that is not fighting every day. So the first two weeks of a redness plan are about the barrier: a gentle cleanser, a moisturiser with ceramides, and sunscreen every morning.
Most people feel less stinging within ten days. That is when we add the light sessions.
What you can do at home
Wash with lukewarm water, not hot. Pat dry. Put moisturiser on while the skin is still a little damp. Change one product at a time, so you know what helped.
